I THINK CONTINUALLY OF THOSE WHO WERE TRULY GREAT

I think continually of those who were truly great.
Who from the womb, remembered the soul's history
Through corridors of light where the hours are suns,
Endless and singing. Whose lovely ambition
Was that their lips, still touched with fire,
Should tell of the spirit clothed from head to foot in song.
And who hoarded from the spring branches
The desires falling across their bodies like blossoms.
What is precious is never to forgot
The delight of the blood drawn from ageless springs
Breaking through rocks in worlds before our earth;
Never to deny its pleasure in the simple morning light,
Nor its grave evening demand for love;
Never to allow gradually the traffic to smother
With noise and fog the flowering of the spirit.

Poets have been mysteriously quiet on the subject of cheese. - G.K. Chesterton

The silence on this subject I must ponder--
How poets have forsaken such a food.
Triter subjects garner notice, wonder;
Left moldering on the shelf the greater good.
What more profound and pressing than that brick--
Pungency curdled, comforting and fine.
Clabbered and transmogrified, a neat trick;
Complemented, its soul-mate from the vine.
Taste imbued with ancient connotations:
Time wheels along but staples stay the same.
Why doesn't, with all its permutations,
The unsung stuff have much greater fame?
Grated, crumbled, melted, consume some cheese,
Raising glasses to G.K., if you please.

Spiderpig (genus spiderous piggus). Extremely rare and found in Springfield. Only known living example owned by a Homer J. Simpson. The fruit of a genetic experiment gone horribly wrong, it is mildly venomous. It spins webs like a spider and typically can be found in the living room.

It's easy to think of yourself as the person you have been. Yet it is far more powerful to see yourself as the person you can become. The mistakes and disappointments of the past may seem to be a major presence in your life. At this very moment, however, you can choose to leave them completely behind. From this point on, your life is up to you. In each and every moment that is to come, you are free to choose your thoughts, your feelings, your actions and your attitude. Consider the possibilities. Think about what could happen if the limitations you thought were there, were not really there at all.

~ Ralph Marston

We have a tendency to make assumptions about everything. The problem with making assumptions is that we BELIEVE they are the truth. We make assumptions about what others are doing or thinking, we take it personally, and then we blame them and react by sending emotional poison with our word.

The human mind is like a fertile ground where seeds are continually being planted. The seeds are opinions, ideas, and concepts. The word [of a human being] is pure magic; we plant a seed, a thought, and it grows [sometimes into an ugly plant to pee on, sometimes into a beautiful plant to nip at].

You can measure the impeccability of your word by your level of self-love. How much you love yourself and how you feel about yourself is directly proportionate to the quality and integrity of your word. When you speak with integrity, and say exactly what you mean, you are impeccable with your word; you feel good; you feel happy and at peace.

Here's a bit of history concerning the Toltecs:

Who Were the Toltecs and What Are the Toltec Teachings?

For a start, the Toltec Teachings are not a religion; Toltec is just one possible path available to us on the journey of life. You might ask...where are we journeying to? Good question! Life is definitely a journey we all travel, but if we are going to venture forth, it might as well be with joy and love. Personally for me, the Toltec teachings constitute a path with heart. The truth is all spiritual paths in life ultimately go to one place...deep inside to the infinite within us. Everything else along the way is just entertainment!

For most of us, our lives are not about love and joy, but instead, drama, pain and fear. So much so, that we have come to believe that this is just how the world and life is supposed to be! Not so! The Toltecs teachings say that life can be a dream of heaven on earth, an expression of every possibility and opportunity. A dream filled with abundance of peace, happiness, grace and love.

As a people, the Toltecs lived thousands of years ago in the central valley of Mexico in the cities of Teotihuacan and Tula. For an ancient society they were amazingly advanced. They had incredible knowledge of science and spirit which led them to create a system of teaching that required enormous discipline and will, but was extremely effective. Combining their knowledge of the mind with a spiritual philosophy that incorporated the beauty of all the esoteric teachings, the Toltecs formed a perfect model for transcendence. Focusing on the mind, Toltec wisdom teaches that humans are dreaming all the time and that the way we dream is what creates the limitations in our lives. Changing the programming of their domestication along with the creation of self love and respect was the key to the Toltecs personal and spiritual freedom...

The Toltec philosophy is about taking action in your life and traveling your path with awareness. After all, you are going in that direction anyway, whether you are conscious of it or not! How much more enjoyable is it when you can co-create with spirit fully awake instead of being asleep, a victim of your own programming?

If one person doesn't love you, someone else will. Just because someone rejects you doesn't mean you have to reject yourself. You have to focus on the most wonderful relationship you can have: the relationship with yourself. It is not about being selfish; it is about self-love. You need to love yourself. Then, when you enter a relationship, you don't go into it because you need to be loved.

The Navajo Night Way Ceremony

In beauty may I walk
All day long may I walk
Through the returning seasons may I walk
Beautifully I will possess again
Beautifully birds
Beautifully joyful birds
On the trail marked with pollen may I walk
With grasshoppers about my feet may I walk
With dew about my feet may I walk
With beauty may I walk
With beauty before me may I walk
With beauty behind me may I walk
With beauty above me may I walk
With beauty all around me may I walk
In old age, wandering on a trail of beauty, lively, may I walk
In old age, wandering on a trail of beauty, living again, may I walk
It is finished in beauty
It is finished in beauty
