You can make your first hangout free. You go to the web page. Select communities. Then start a community. Once you go through all the stuff there. You can log into the Would Of Kaneva. Use the go places button. Under the hangouts tab. Type the name you gave the new community highlight it and go!

Keep in mind your free community is a conferance room. It can not be edited at all. You will have to build over everything there if you wish to change it. Most do this but you don't have to.
