Google is now in the Social Networking Game.....
BUT not at the network level .... at the lowest level the HTML, Javascript and AJAX level and they are setting the standard for Social Networking Widgets. All of the 2D social networks have signed up to utilize their OpenSocial (similar to Open Source) standards. These networks include Engage.com, Friendster, hi5, Hyves, imeem, LinkedIn, MySpace, Ning, Oracle, orkut, Plaxo, Salesforce.com, Six Apart, Tianji, Viadeo, and XING
Check out the video on this page... Google OpenSocial (http://code.google.com/apis/opensocial/)
My hope is Kaneva will consider this standard and adopt it.
The world is constantly changing....
