You can click Meet People in tool bar, hightlight the persons name then click first icon on left. You can also in chat box type.... /tell name......If someone sends private message to you in world you can simply type ..... /r spacebar to reply to last pvt mesage received. hope this helps:)

Just an FYI Jojo, and all the other users....typing "/"
and then the first letter of any command works:
To "tell" someone you can type > "/t[space](person's name)"
ex.: /t buster9677 Hi Buster!

To shout - /s Hey Everybody!!!!
To whisper - /w Hey Everybody.
