Im here to merely make friends,
I do notice many are here for popularity LOL and SEX.
I don't know why people can't just be simple and make friends.
Such as rave me I don't care about the rave, My home is just simple style nothing fansy. People come into the Mall say rave me please! Come rave my home please, To me get a life! Maybe im being ignorant but Im not.
I just go in and mind my own business. Another thing kids are in here and they're places that have 18+ material and those under 18 are exposed to it.
I have seen kids I mean kids 12,13 and 14 y/o hitting on older females and males. I think each person that logs on should have a rating set for themselves. If they're into explicit stuff they need to only have 18+ friends not kids. Also when you view a persons contact thing it doesnt show there age, it should. Thats the first thing that should be on there. I know many that sign up don't put there true age thats ashamed. Internet today is scary. i have to totally agree thats what i'm here for too i love chatting its part of my everyday life style and i look forward to getting kaneva n meeting new people for friends. not for anything else i have that already.

People that have the adult material are supposed to have their profile set to adults only.I guess this is by the honor system.
If kids are viewing this stuff,it's the parents fault,IMO.
I have two kids and I wouldn't let them run loose on this site.
Some parents are just so naive,though.

Totally agree - Think what your saying is you want some "intelligent" chat!!
I think the whole thing is fantastic but its a matter of finding (and people making) hangouts that suit different needs.

When I get around to making my own hangout I hope to make it for people who actually want to communicate on a mature level which means there would be no dance floor or screaming videos.:)

Lol hi ha this rave was created by Kaneva and it was a prerequisite to get into world when i joined you needed to rave to get out there and be seen so you would get an invite and I am on the top 2 of the popular list ha but im not running around saying rave me i just welcome the new person with a rave and comment . I found when I was new that it made me feel welcome that people where around and im not just sitting on a page all by myself its got its good points and its flaws but dont think were all at the top because we are superficial if i enjoy greeting new people and hey make 1 or 2 friends because i got out there and extened my hand then thats good for me.Also good point on the kids I think there needs to be some type of Kaneva moniters to oversee the large population of kids i certianly dont turn my back on anyone younger than me i was a kid once too if one of them did have a real problem who are they gonna turn to but you are right the net is a scary place for adults let alone kids and alot of the kids post false ages to get in me ive got my age listed and its in my name hence the diva42 Im sure Kaneva has been overseeing things that go on here and its theyre decision on how to approach this and Im sure they will come up with something good by our suggestions but i try to keep a watchful eye out for our junior members and if they are off track i dont feed into it.

I agree that there's a paucity of intelligent discussion/chat on WOK. IMHO that's a reflection of some of the people involved and the limitations of the medium--having a typed conversation of any complexity is really hard and generally stressful. There are good, reflective people here if you look around. I see nothing wrong with dancing in an 80's style disco while chatting with someone about any number of topics. Its kinda fun to try to match the silly dance steps to the tunes. WOK without any sort of soundtrack would be less interesting.

If somebody builds a WOK community that's fun and adult (in the better sense of the term), sign me up. In the meantime, I'll dance wherever people gather and play tunes.

I would be happy to team with you (or anyone else of similar views) to build a nondisco hangout. I can't build one myself since I'm using an old laptop with an inadequate graphics card (I can buy stuff but right clicking to place objects invariably crashes my machine). I'll buy what I can with my credits if you will build it.

Everyone wants to be your "friend" even if they have nothing in common with you. I had to be VERY selective on my first few visits to WOK.

I've got friends on Second Life who have been sucked into the 'friend' part of the world - to a point where they call out of work and just veg in front of the computer til 2am. I admit, that freaks me out.

What I like about WOK at this juncture: meeting different people than my regular 'hang outs' on livejournal and other 'fan' sites...

compared to other virtual worlds..

aside from that..do players get any rewards for getting the most raves aside from the top-priority rating in 'friends' listings?

I emailed Kaneva earlier in the week regarding raves, here's what they replied back...

"The rave system in Kaneva is essentially a way for players to say hello, get to know each other and to give a virtual "high-five" to one another.

Not having a lot of raves doesn't preclude anyone from doing anything in Kaneva. The raves are just for fun."

As I said before, Im not here 4 the Raves many people on here EXPRESS saying I have more Raves than you! Or Im more popu;ar than you, SO WHAT! Do I care! not at all, Im myself I spend most of my time in my Kaneva home.
If and when we can sit, I'll add a video to watch on my tv Thats if it'll support short video clips. So for Raves Let'm Rave.....

I have a community that has no dance floor or sceaming music. It's called Rumors Cafe. Go check it out, and the graphics will not pose any lag issues.

Are you really serious about your 3d walkway Spaz?
I'm puzzled in a sense that i tend to visualize a walk that does a progress render as the music plays..funny!

There is a song I plan to use for that walk, However I'll announce it when the walkway is done and I get it to last as the music plays, so I'll be walking alot LOL. I hope that answered your question. I thouhgt the idea was good even just to have some soft music playing while you're walking through the walkway.

I think this site should be for adults only..
Kids don't know what they are doing on here and if they do it is only a matter of time until they get bored and it will be another meat market just like myspace and yearbook... Sorry guys but im totally against those sites...
this should be a site and a game for adults to relaz and meet other ppl and not worry about kids getting hit on....
