I'm trying to see if a friend of mine still comes here and I can't find the date she last logged in on her profile page. Was that date deleted????

unfortunately, yes, that info has been removed from profile pages.
As posted by Tinman: "Minor Updates to MyKaneva: Profiles hot links, reversed comment thread order, last login/update removed from profiles,events-friendly name" |

Thanks for the reply. Any idea why? I like knowing if friends are still logging in.

I'm really sorry they removed it. I've repeatedly suggested it to another game I play because it's so nice to see if someone hasn't logged in for awhile. I've emailed some friends here before and when they don't answer I check to see if they've logged in since I sent the email. If they haven't, I know why they haven't answered. I can't think of any reason they would have to remove this.
Added it as an idea. Please vote if you'd like it back, too. http://ideas.kaneva.com/a/dtd/23861-2569 |

If a member was on your friends list, you can still check when they last logged in by using the My Friends tab on the blue toolbar. There are three tabs in there, Zone, World and Friends. The Zone tab shows you who is currently in the area you are in; the World tab shows you who is currently online and where; and the Friends tab shows you if people on your friends list are currently online and if not online, when they last appeared in the world. |

This came about recently - and I believe as a result of people raising hell on the Forums. People used the last login date to try to say something about "ALTS" voting in contests. Kaneva's solutuion - remove the information.
Well guess what, we need that information to be able to tell if a player is active or has disappeared. Kaneva reacted to people using that feature to point out that many many accounts are inactive and they don't want people pointing that out. Too bad the truth isn't just fine. |

Didn't even think about the alt stuff but you're probably right, Jay. Because I don't like everyone being notified when I log in and out I don't add a lot of people as friends so I can't use the My Friends button in world to see when someone last logged in. Mostly I use it when I someone comes to mind who I have not seen in a while and I wonder if they are still around. (They usually are but I just haven't seen them because I don't get out much.) Then there are some people I check every now and then to see if they've come back - Tesa1a, Ceilya, jrkellydrummer, Tyson24769, holdemfreak, etc. and others who have joined through me who I keep hoping will start logging in (or start logging in more regularly). I guess I'm just saying I used it and I'm sad to see it's gone.

I would prefer an option .
Some people dont want people checking to see if they are around or when they last logged in. Others dont care, or like people knowing when they were last here etc. Why not make it an option you can choose to either activate or not activate?? |
